Sunset Hyssop

08/03/2014 | Ken Lain, mountain gardener Flowers, Plant of the Week, Shrubs

Sunset HyssopAgastache rupestris. Sunset hyssop fills the garden with the aroma of root beer or licorice, and a surefire way to attract hummingbirds to your garden. The vibrant pink, purple and orange blossoms definitely catch your eye, adding pizazz to any yard. Hardy enough to be a companion plant to butterfly bush, and far less invasive than Russian sage, in bighter colors. Well suited to the harsh sun and soil in the mountains of Arizona.
